![]() Might work well putting a clean hole in paneling and other materials but not the best on drywall. I think the manufacturer has a great idea but needs a little more R&D on the tooth and cut design, needs to be a little more aggressive. It is very noisy and because most environments where you may need to add a hole are occupied offices, businesses etc it creates a very loud obnoxious noise. It is not fast or at least not as fast at removing material as a good drywall saw. I've been cutting holes in walls for a very long time and in my opinion I would not use this tool to replace my trusty hand saw. ![]() Jerry McKissack from Yorktown, IN United States So far, this Product Review was helpful to 0 TTS Customers.īRIAN HOPKINS from STANLEY, NY United States Please Note a Multi-Tool is Required for Use With This Product. High Quality - Engineered and Manufactured in the USA!.Compatible with Virtually Every Multi-Tool.Universal Mounting - Rotates 360° in 30° Increments.Cut-In Dual Gang Boxes Quickly and Effortlessly. The more power your tool outputs, the faster it cuts. For example, a 20V DeWalt Multitool is going to cut the hole much faster than a 12V DeWalt Multitool. How long does it take to cut? This truly depends on the make and power of your Multitool. Majority of tools that we have tested do not need any adapters. In some cases the QBit will not work at all if you have an unneeded adapter installed. Feel free to contact us if you have any questions on box size.ĭo I need an Adapter? In order to get optimal performance out of your QBit, we suggest trying the QBit without any adapters. Per QBits manufacturer it fits Carlon (Blue / Orange), Arlington, and most boxes you'll find on Tech Tool Supply as well as your local hardware stores. What boxes does it fit? QBit was designed to cover a broad range size. The Q-Bit is designed specifically for drywall. If your Multi-Tool has a different connection type on it, Bosch makes a little adapter (OIS001B) for less than $4 that allows you to adapt to the standard size (available in most hardware stores).ĭoes it Cut Wood? No. Will it Fit my Multi-Tool? QBit was designed to fit all popular tools such as DeWalt, Milwaukee, Bosch, Fein, etc. So simply put, QBit will last you a VERY long time! How long does it last? While we don't have an exact number, QBit's manufacturer has tested the QBit to 500 cuts with no signs of wear to the tool. How is the dust? The clever mechanics of the QBit result in 50% less dust! Unlike a drywall saw that continually pulls the dust back out of the wall, the Q-Bit continually moves inward drastically minimizing dust! If your job requires you to cut in wall boxes in drywall we highly recommend that you invest in this tool! The QBit fits on virtually any Multi-Tool and turns it into a hole making machine! Unlike a drywall saw which leaves unsightly ragged edges, the QBit makes a perfect hole every time and it does it quick! Labor Saving Systems, the manufacturer that brought us the Magnepull and the Magnespot, has released an amazing new product called the QBit! Just like the Magnepull and the Magnespot, once you own a QBit you will wonder how you ever lived without it. If you aren't sure which QBit you need, please visit our Qbit Sizing Page. Is there some alternative way of doing this that I should be prepared for when I get there?įYI - I wasn't originally prepared for this because the demarc extension I'm going back to install was supposed to have already been installed by another contractor (who has since been fired).Sizing: This QBit is designed for our Arlington LV1 and Carlon SC100RR. I'm considering bringing my cordless leaf blower and blowing the line through (after making a relatively sealed connection between the blower and the conduit. I have a 6HP Ridgid vac that I can bring with me next week, but I'm not sure how well that will work either, considering the number of couplings along the conduit and that the couplings aren't going to be air tight. I know the length and number of elbows because almost the entire length of conduit is on the roof of the building, with short stubs coming through the roof at the demarc and tenant space.Īll I had with me the other day to get string through that conduit was a Milwaukee M18 vacuum I didn't even try it. I'm going back to a site next week where I'm expecting to pull 2 Cat5e and 2 coax cables through 250 feet of 2" rigid conduit that has 4 90-degree bends in it.
